Hey Fatty & Friends Market Sunday 5th May

We had such a great time at Hey Fatty & Friends Market! It was a slightly chilly but lovely day of vintage, recycled and locally made clothing in the beautiful Penny Black beer garden in Brunswick on Sunday 5th May. The photos will be up on our facebook page soon, so keep an eye out.

Hey Fatty & friends fair

We still can't believe how great the fair was, still pinching ourselves to make sure we weren't dreaming! If you haven't seen the photos yet check out the facebook album. We have received many beautiful emails and messages from fatties and stallholders that attended, and it's made us very thankful to have had the opportunity to organise such an event. We also want to continue to thank each and every person that came along and those that helped make it such a success.

Everyone keeps asking when the next one will be and while we have a few ideas, we can't say anything yet but we will make sure we give you plenty of notice before the next big event! Until then, enjoy the pics or come along to one of our sales or market appearances and say 'Hey Fatty!'

This is a style event like no other as Hey Fatty & friends seek to create an inclusive, affordable and self empowering fashion fair.

Internationally recognised plus size personality, Kelli Jean Drinkwater will be the official hostess

Interviewing fatties, vox popping unsuspecting shoppers and announcing the fatwalk shows. We cannot wait to see what she does and who she wears at the fair! If you want to know why we are so excited about Kelli Jean Drinkwater then read below for more details.

The runway promises to be groundbreaking with a fashion first - happy models!

A Melbourne fashion first, the Free Fatwalk

Calling out to every woman in the audience to take back the catwalk with their own style and self loving attitude. Think Paris is Burning, Hairspray and En Vogue and you'll know why we're excited!

Introducing our hostess Kelli Jean Drinkwater!

Hey Fatty & friends is extremely excited to announce the hostess for the fair will be Kelli Jean Drinkwater!

Our fatabulous hostess will be interviewing fatties, hosting the fatwalk shows and generally causing a stir throughout the day, the only question is, how many outfit changes will we see? If you want to know more about why she is simply so amazing, then read on.

Kelli Jean Drinkwater has been showing off what she's got since she can remember. Whether as Artist/Muse, Performer/Femcee, Filmmaker or Community Organiser she has her fingers in many a pie.

An internationally recognised plus size personality, she has graced the catwalks of London UK for cutting edge designers as well as for homegrown talent such as Gisela Ramirez. She has been featured in fashion bible I-D magazine (UK), Volup.2 magazine (FR) and is cover girl for both DIVA magazines "Fat Issue" (UK) as well as Slit! magazine (AUS). Throughout her career her aim has always been to push the boundaries of acceptable feminine sexuality, challenge the dominant paradigm of the 'beauty' industry and create fierce and unapologetic images of people of size.

She is currently in post production on her much anticipated independent documentary "Fierce Flesh" - which explores the Fat Activist movement and tells the story of Aquaporko! The Fat Femme Synchronised Swim Team. Coming Soon!

Everything she wears is 3 sizes to "small" and she wouldn't have it any other way. See Kelli Jean Drinkwater host Hey Fatty & friends, plus size vintage & recycled fashion fair. Sunday 16th September 12pm -5pm at St Brigid's beautiful Parish Hall. 378 Nicholson st, Nth Fitzroy. $5 entry.
